360 Waves, also known just as “waves” “360’s” or “spinnas” are a African American hair pattern worn by mostly men. The spinning effect is from the hair waves.

What Type of Hair is Needed?

The texture of your hair does not matter. But it will take a different amount of time for the waves to start coming in. People that have easier to manage hair will get waves easier in most cases. No two wavers are alike. Some end up with longer spaced out waves, some closer waves, but most generally get somewhere in between.

How to Get 360 Waves? Here are some basic tips.

The first step is getting a fresh cut if needed. It is no possible to get waves with long hair like, braids, cornrows, dreadlocks, etc. You can also start a new wave pattern off a fresh haircut.

Next, go to your local Walgreen’s store and pickup a couple of supplies. Here’s what you should get at the very least.

A “Du rag”, stocking cap, or another type of scarf- to stop you from destroying your pattern up when you go to sleep. Don’t let all that work go to waste.

Medium or soft style hair brush- this is used to brush the 360 waves pattern in. Don’t scalp yourself with a coarse brush.

Some hair lotion/moisturizer- this is used to keep your scalp and hair clean and healthy. Also used in some advanced waving methods to help lay the hair down in the 360 wave pattern.

After you get your supplies, wash your hair clean of any dirt, and begin your moisturizing/brushing schedule depending on your hair type. Some will find that their hair may need a lot more moisture or brushing than others. There are guides available on the internet to help you find the best waving combinations for your hair type.
