Santa Needs Hair Love Too!

Do you wish to look like Santa this Christmas? Well, we expect that have worked all year on that belly! But c’mon Santa’s not just about being fat, you have to also look real, have a white-as-snow hair and beard. In fact, being Santa ain’t easy.

That’s why people like Joyce Beisel exist, to make Santa wannabes look the part. Ms. Beisel (or Santa’s Stylist) runs a hair salon that is in charge of bleaching, tonning and cutting the hair of hundreds of Santa’s. At one point her salon becomes a Santa convention!

Bill Fowler’s a gritty trucker who says he was once an outlaw biker before dedicating his life to Christ in 1983. But for all his motorcycle machismo, he dreads his trips to the salon. santa-drunk

“You can actually feel the blisters,” Fowler says with a sigh.

“Yeah,” Craven adds. “It’s like getting burned and then getting burned again.”

Beisel hushes the two. “It’s like childbirth,” she says. “You’ll forget when you see how pretty the result is.”

Not only that, in addition to stand all that hair work, you’ve also have to pay a not-so-cheap bil, starting at $225! So, please next time you see a good-looking Santa, stop, take a picture and hug him.

You can read all about it at May your hair be merry and white: A visit with Santa’s stylist
